Bali beach clubs: where to go
Bali’s best-known beach clubs by area: Canggu, Seminyak and the cliff clubs of Uluwatu. How to choose, when to arrive and how to book the best spots.
Beach clubs are one of Bali’s signatures. By day it is a pool, daybeds and cocktails by the ocean; at sunset, the island’s main show; in the evening, music and DJs. The clubs differ a lot in mood, so it helps to know where you are heading.
Here are the best-known spots, area by area.
Canggu and Berawa
Home to some of the island’s biggest and loudest clubs.
- Finns Beach Club: one of Bali’s best-known beach clubs, with several pools, bars and parties until late right on Berawa beach.
- Atlas Beach Club: a huge club in Berawa with big shows and a large stage. For those who like scale.
- Café del Mar Bali: the Bali outpost of the Ibiza legend, with a pool by the ocean, sunset music and a calmer lounge feel.
- La Brisa: boho style by Echo Beach, built with plenty of timber from old fishing boats, lit by candles and warm evening light.
Seminyak
A more grown-up, stylish crowd, and great restaurants inside the clubs.
- Potato Head Beach Club: a cult spot with its famous facade of old wooden shutters, a pool facing the ocean and a strong music programme.
- Mrs Sippy: a day club with a pool and diving platforms. Fun and easy-going, great for a group.

Uluwatu: the cliff clubs
In the south the clubs sit right on the cliffs, and the view is the real luxury.
- Savaya: a clifftop club with a pool above the ocean and parties with well-known DJs.
- Sundays Beach Club: a hidden beach at the foot of the cliffs, reached by an inclined lift. White sand, turquoise water, kayaks and paddleboards.
- El Kabron: a Spanish restaurant and cliff club with a pool on the edge and some of the best sunsets on the island.
How to choose
- Party and big sound: Atlas, Finns, Savaya.
- Sunset and lounge: Café del Mar, La Brisa, El Kabron.
- Food and style: Potato Head.
- A quiet day by the water: Sundays Beach Club.
A few tips
- Book ahead. At weekends and for sunset the best spots, daybeds, cabanas and poolside tables, go first. They often come with a minimum spend that counts towards food and drinks.
- Arrive before sunset. In Bali the sun sets around six in the evening all year round, and by then the popular clubs are packed.
- Allow time for the drive. Canggu to Uluwatu takes over an hour, and traffic only builds in the evening. It is easiest with a chauffeur who waits and drives you back.
- Check the line-up. Many clubs host themed nights and DJ sets; on those days there are fewer spots and a different vibe.
